How Often Should You Update Your Blog

When we talk about a blog website whether it’s with paid domain or just WordPress website, people always want to add more and more content on their pages. All bloggers know that the visitors and internet users will only visit their blog if they can find something interesting during each visit. You can understand it by supposing how many times you can go to a restaurant and order the same item before you get sick or it and never return to that place again. The same thing can be applied to internet users. Another thing to keep in mind here is the quality of the content. Any blogger can copy something from the internet and add it to his blog to increase the number of posts but it’s not the right way to do it.

Quality is always important than quantity. Sometimes frequency in posting new content to your blog can result in higher number of visitors but it’s not the case for all blog websites. There are dozens of blogs that only show 2-3 new posts every month and still, they have millions of followers. The bottom line is that the frequency of adding new content to your blog depends on what kind of posts you add, how unique the content is, how dedicated you are to the topic and how much you know about it. If you have the time and knowledge, adding new posts more frequently can never hurt your blog.

Factors that Define a Schedule for Updating a Blog:

1.       Understand Your Marketing Goals:

The most important thing about defining a timeline to update your blog is that what kind of business you have and how many resources you can invest in it. If you have a small business, maybe it won’t be possible for you to spare thousands of dollars in the beginning for hiring professional writers for your blog. You need to understand what you want to achieve with posts on your blogs and how soon you want to see the results. If you just want to advertise the products or services, maybe just a couple of posts every week is enough but when you want to market your multinational corporation, not even 10 unique posts every day are enough.

2.       The Number of Existing Posts:

The more available content you have on your blog, the less you need to worry. The rule is very simple; with more posts already existing on your blog, your audience will have enough content to go through for a couple of visits before they get tired of it and you will need to add new content. On the other hand, if your blog is new and you have already invested money in getting more visitors, you need to increase the number of posts every day to keep them engaged.

3.       See Where the Visitors are Coming From:

Basically, there are 2 ways of getting new visitors to your website including social media posts and search engine. When you share something on social media, it will only stay in the news for no longer than 1 day but when we talk about search engines, the posts can show up for many days and even weeks. In the same manner, if you are sharing content on social media, you can’t keep posting the same old stuff but you need to add unique and interesting stuff where on the other hand, for beginners, it’s possible to share the same content on the search engine for more than once. This sharing frequency will define how often you need to update your blog and how many posts every day it needs.
